If the assignment that interests you is in a region where you’re not currently licensed, don’t worry! BHS is equipped with an in-house operations team to assist in your licensing, onboarding and travel logistics while you pack your bags and focus on your patients.

BHS can assist you with all travel-related details, such as flights, rental cars, ground transportation, lodging, and pet accommodations. You are also eligible for a stipend to cover these costs.

ANSWERS TO THE MOST COMMON TRAVEL QUESTIONS WE RECEIVE

I just took an assignment, what happens next?

First of all, congratulations! Second, we understand you probably have a lot of questions about your travel schedule. When you book an assignment, your recruiter will discuss your stipend eligibility and travel/lodging options from there. If you choose to book everything yourself without our guidance, great! If you’re not sure about how to start, we can provide guidance and get the ball rolling. Experienced with assisting healthcare professionals travel nationwide since 2001, BHS has deep roots that provide the inside scoop on local hotels, grocery stores, health clubs and other amenities in your assigned location, and we are happy to share that information with you.

What if my flight is cancelled/delayed/re-routed?

But it’s no secret: travel comes with its fair share of issues. You don’t want to get stuck dealing with these headaches when your future patients are counting on you! Worried your flight will be cancelled due to a hurricane or blizzard? Not a problem, you can always change your flight (just like you would when travelling for leisure) or call our travel specialists for advice.

How do I check into my flight once I’ve received my travel confirmation?

Once you receive your confirmed itinerary, you can check in for your flight just as you would for a personal trip. A day before take-off, visit the airline’s website and enter your flight information to check in for your flight. Once you’ve checked in, you’ll be able to select preferred seats and add applicable upgrades.

Can I get a hotel room with a kitchenette in it?

The best part about travelling with BHS? You choose! We will do our best to help you find your preferred room type, if you need the help and cannot seem to find one, but you know your ideal lodging best! For reference, some hotels classify a kitchenette as a room with a wet bar, mini fridge, and microwave. Others have full kitchens with stove tops, full-size fridges, a dishwasher, and a sink. Check out your chosen hotel’s website to better understand their room types and features.

Do I have to stay in a hotel?

In addition to housing stipends or arranging hotel room stays, BHS has built strong relationships with corporate housing vendors across the country, in order to provide long-term housing solutions such as month-to-month rental agreements. You’re also welcome to consider AirBnbs, or other non-traditional housing options. How you spend your stipend is up to you!

What if I’m not flying anywhere?

If you found an assignment closer to home or will not be taking a flight to get there, you are still eligible for a stipend and/or mileage reimbursements.

Can I bring my pet/support animal with me on my assignment?

BHS will do everything possible to help find accommodations for our clinicians who desire to travel with their animal companions. In most areas of the country, there are pet-friendly hotels which cater to individuals with pets and their unique needs. It is important to note that most pet-friendly hotels charge a fee, which the clinician will be held responsible for.

Is my hotel reservation prepaid?

When you make the hotel reservation, the hotel will have your credit card on file prior to your arrival. The clinician is responsible for the hotel room, tax, and any incidental charges that are incurred during their stay. Most hotels will ask for your personal credit card at the time of check in,

Can I use my rewards numbers on my trips for Barton Associates?

Unlike some other staffing companies, all of your hotel, train, airline, rental car and other rewards programs are easy to add to your assignments. You choose the company, add your rewards number to your reservation, and book! It’s as easy as that. We will never require you to use a corporate rewards number.

What about discount codes?
