Job Description
A hospital in Texas is looking for a MedSurg RN that can also operate as a charge nurse as needed for 13 weeks beginning in mid-May. This is a 38 bed unit but there are usually less than 20 patients in there. There is a 1:5 nurse to patient ratio. There is no ICU; anyone needing that level of care will be taken elsewhere. Cases include general surgery (hips, joints, hernias, etc.) and complications with the elderly (pneumonia, congestive heart failure, COPD, etc.). ACLS is required.
