Job Description
Job Title: Primary Care Nurse
Job Location: South Dakota
Type of Facility: Small Rural VA Clinic
Length of Assignment: 6 months
Start Date: Immediately
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist providers with primary care duties for VA patients
- Perform patient vitals, testing, and immunizations
- Conduct follow-ups on recently discharged patients
- Room patients and manage daily patient flow (10-12 patients per day)
- Handle both scheduled appointments and occasional walk-ins
Requirements:
- Active South Dakota RN license (compact license not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical Unit, Outpatient Facility, Primary Care, and/or Adult Health
- Current BLS certification (must be American Heart Association)
- Experience with VA patients preferred but not required
- Strong clinical skills in primary care and outpatient settings
