Job Description

Job Title: Labor & Delivery Nurse

Job Location: Arizona

Type of Facility: Indian Health Service (IHS) Hospital

Length of Assignment: 13 weeks

Start Date: Early May

Work Schedule: 12 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) for 3 days per week

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Provide care for pregnant mothers during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods

- Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections

- Support the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) practices

- Care for newborns rooming-in with mothers

- Potentially serve as charge nurse on occasion after training

- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes

- Utilize RPMS electronic medical record system

Requirements:

- 5 years of OB/Labor & Delivery experience

- Active compact nursing license

- Current certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP

- AWHONN Advanced FHM certification (RNC-EFM may be substituted)
