A nursing home in California is looking for LTC nurses to assist with coverage starting in mid December. The facility has both day and night shifts available. This is a very unique opportunity for a long term care nurse as this is technically a locked psych unit, but they do not need psych experience. It is more or less a swing bed atmosphere between a full inpatient psych unit and the "real world." The primary goal is to get people ready to reintegrate into society. There is no rounding on patients. Med passing consists of patients lining up at the nurse station. There is very little medical involved either; one patient has a wound on their foot and once a month is taken to an outpatient wound clinic as they don't do the treatment on-site. The need is for a COVID outbreak. They have 103 patients, 50 have COVID, but none on vents or anything serious, those are transferred out
